Water distribution in Aquara
The drinking water supply systems in the towns where we operate consist of distribution networks that take water to residents’ homes.
Our facilities
- We supply over 7,950,000 m3 a year to over 20 towns in Zaragoza, Huesca and Teruel.
- Our drinking water distribution network is 769 km long.
- There are 195 water quality control points in our distribution networks to ensure the highest-quality drinking water.
In recent years, existing fibre cement has gradually been eliminated as stipulated by current legislation and replaced mainly by polyethylene and ductile casting. These are much more modern materials with advantages in terms of durability and health.
Geographic information system (GIS)
At Aquara we have worked to implement the Geographical Information System (GIS) in the region. This tool facilitates more sustainable use of our supply network, thus improving residents’ meter reading and billing processes.
