Aquara offsets its carbon footprint with a tree planting in Zaragoza
In total, 30 Platanus acerifolia trees were supplied and planted, in conjunction with the Zaragoza City Council Parks and Gardens Department and the Servicios Parque de Delicias Special Employment Centre.
Aquara, in its commitment to the environment and sustainable development, carried out a tree planting in the urban environment of the city of Zaragoza.
This action is part of Aquara’s commitment to improve the ‘supply, installation and maintenance of meters and support for supply and sewer services’ it manages for the city. As such, it agreed to calculate the carbon footprint associated with it services by drawing up its offer in terms of CO2 and to offset these emissions by planting local plant species.
Specifically, the company supplied and planted 20 Platanus acerifolia trees along Avenida Salvador Allende, another 3 along Avenida Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda and the remaining 7 along Avenida José Atarés.
These 30 units were supplied and planted thanks to the cooperation of the Zaragoza City Council Parks and Gardens Department and the Servicios Parque de Delicias Special Employment Centre.
The day of the planting was attended by the Aquara’s customer services manager in the city, Raquel Tomás, Aquara’s Logistics and Operations Manager in Zaragoza, Carlos Vicente, and Javier Benedicto from the Zaragoza City Council Parks and Gardens Department.
