Aquara joins the Sustainable Mobility Strategy of the City of Zaragozaa
Contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions and improving the air quality of the Aragonese capital is one of the objectives of Aquara, a company that carries out the installation and reading services of water meters in the city, as well as providing support in the management of the integral cycle of the Water that realizes the City council of Saragossa.
For this, Aquara has replaced 50% of its fleet with electric mobility vehicles. Specifically, it has acquired seven electric motorcycles with which the operators responsible for carrying out the installation and assembly of meters through the city. These vehicles, which previously operated on gasoline, have autonomy to cover the entire working day and are charged with electricity at night. In addition, the new motorcycles are classified by the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT), as 'zero emissions vehicles' thus contributing to reduce the carbon footprint associated with the service that the company provides in the Aragonese capital. It is estimated that thanks to this measure, a total of 5,600 kg of CO2 will be emitted per year.
In this way, Aquara joins the Climate Change, Air Quality and Health Strategy of Zaragoza (ECAZ 3.0), which brings together and promotes the achievement of the objectives that the Zaragoza City Council has defined in terms of Sustainable Development and that they will mark the road map to build a city model based on people and care for the environment.
