A technology based on the injection of CO2 will eliminate the incrustations of the water in Calatayud

City Council and Aquara materialize one of the first improvements contemplated in the new water supply and sanitation contract.

The sedimentation problems in interior installations derived from the characteristics of the water in Calatayud will be solved in the coming weeks.

This is one of the first improvement actions that are part of the city's new supply and sanitation contract that the municipality of Bilbao and the concessionaire recently signed.

Specifically, Aquara is going to launch an innovative system based on the injection of CO2 in the city's drinking water treatment station that will make it possible to eliminate the incrustations that were produced in the interior facilities of some homes in Calatayud.

This technological solution has been adopted taking into account the characteristics of the city's water, which has a high PH level and is classified as ‘semi-hard’. Thanks to the injection of CO2, the PH levels will be reduced and, therefore, the characteristics of the water that generated sedimentation in taps and internal pipes will be modified.

The municipal water service improves the characteristics of the water resource to facilitate its domestic use, an advance that is not related to the quality of drinking water, which already had all the guarantees established by the health authorities.

In this way, a wide range of proposals aimed at promoting sustainable, digital, innovative and solidary water management such as the renovation of infrastructures, the connection of the urbanization of Marivella to the municipal supply network or the enabling of a social fund the municipal water service.
